On a state level, Zoe has been an incredibly successful swimmer. She is the current state record holder in the 200 Medley Relay and the 100 Breaststroke, and was a State Champion in both events as well as the 200 Individual Medley and the 400 Freestyle Relay last year. Scoring individual points was important to Zoe to contribute to our team success. The biggest impact that she had on our team last year was when she took time out of her day to stay late to work with individual team members to tweak their strokes and help them with their starts. There are girls who still talk about Zoe teaching them how to swim breaststroke better and how cool it was that Zoe cared about their success just as much as her own.

Zoe has been a USA National Junior Team member for the last two years. She is the 2017 FINA Junior World champion in the 200 Breaststroke and also finished 2nd in the Medley Relay, 3rd in the 100 Breaststroke, 4th in the 50 Breaststroke, and 6th in the 200 Individual Medley. She was a part of the relay team that broke the National Age Group record for the 200 Medley Relay as well as the 400 Medley Relay. Zoe also participated in the Junior Pan Pacific Games in 2016 where she took 1st place and broke meet records in the 100 and 200 Breaststroke. She has several individual and relay Junior Nationals championships on her resume and was a semi-finalist in the 2016 Olympic Trials. Zoe is one of the most accomplished swimmers to ever come out of the state of Colorado.

Next year, Zoe will attend Stanford University where she will swim and pursue a degree in Biomedical Engineering. It is Zoe’s dream to work with people and build prosthetic limbs for them. When asked why, Zoe’s response was, “I love working with people and I want to make their lives better and easier if possible. I figure this way, I can achieve both.”

Administrator/Teacher/Coach Notes and Comments:

Zoe is one of the hardest working, most dedicated athletes I have ever had the opportunity to coach. She is incredibly committed to her high school team and involved in her community. Her desire to make those around her better people and better athletes shows her high level of character and drive. She strives to give back to her teammates, which is why she was voted captain of our team this season. Whether she is putting on a cap that says USA, FAST, or Fossil Ridge, Zoe is equally proud to compete for that team and puts her whole heart into it.
